Singledout Dating App Review
I’ve always been a little sceptical when it comes to online dating. I’ve heard about too many first-date disasters from my friends which were enough to put me off! Plus the two times I’ve signed up for a dating site were short-lived. I soon deactivated my account due to the messages I was receiving – nude shots and inappropriate messages? No thanks! But on the other hand, I don’t particularly enjoy being single. So I decided to search for a female-friendly dating app and give it a go, this was when I came across Singledout.
I won’t give too much away at this stage of my Singledout dating app review but I will say that the app definitely surpassed my expectations, especially in comparison to other dating apps I tried.
Singledout Review: What you need to know
After doing a bit of online research and asking around, I came across Singledout which stood out from the rest, described as ‘safe and female-friendly’, I was sold – I immediately downloaded the app and got to work building my profile.
It was quick, easy and free to install, once I had uploaded a few selfies and made myself sound as interesting as I could, it was time to come up with a list of questions to ask my potential suitors, to be answered with a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’. Questions including: “Do you like cats?” and “Would you be happy to pay on the first date?”.
What’s great about the Singledout female-friendly dating app is that it’s very different to other dating apps out there. You know, the ones based on superficial appearance where you can swipe no on someone because of how they look? That’s not how Singledout works. This app brings something unique to the table and allows women to either accept or reject men based on so much more than just looks.
Hopefully my Singledout dating app review will provide you with insightful information of the app and help to answer any questions which you may have.
Singledout Review: The stats
Singledout was founded by Jay Wadhwani in 2014 and has since been downloaded and used by thousands of women everywhere. Whether you’re looking for a friend, a flirty fling or something more, there really is someone for everyone regardless of your age, gender or sexual orientation. However, you must be at least 17 years old to download the app.
The app has proven to be a big hit from the start, when 1,600 students from the University of Massachusetts Amherst participated in the Singledout beta launch. The large majority of which were female. Although an equal amount of men are encouraged to create an account and look for love as well. The main target users of Singleout are women as this female-friendly dating app was specifically designed to ensure women have a safe and enjoyable online dating experience.
Singledout is available on both both Android and IOS, but for the sake of this Singleout dating app review, I downloaded it onto my IPhone which requires IOS 7.0 or later.
Singledout Review: What it packs
Wadhwani had a vision when he created Singledout which was to help women avoid having to deal with unwanted attention and preventing men from initiating contact, as this app includes: Invite-only, anonymity, filters and a blocking tool.
The concept is simple yet effective. Men can only contact women if they have been invited to and this is only after they have answered a series of questions set by the women and based on their preferences. This is why Singledout is described as the ultimate female-friendly app.
This screening/singling out process prevents men from sending obscene or offensives messages. It also means men will be more inclined to make more of an effort to get to know the women. Knowing they’ve been especially picked. The question can be either personal or superficial. Whether you’d like to find out if they’re a smoker or non-smoker or if you want to know if they prefer girls with long or short hair. This was particularly useful for me as I was planning on getting my locks chopped a few weeks after I first downloaded the app.
Singledout Review: The last word
As I previously mentioned in this Singledout dating app review. My favourite part of Singledout is the option to filter out unwanted attention and being able to accept or reject someone before contact. I also enjoy the fact you already know a bit of about the guy before you even talk to them due to the answers they have provided. Usually when you’re messaging a potential suitor you ask them nosey questions. With Singleout, you don’t have to as chances are they’ve already answered what you’re itching to know during the screening process.
I’ve been using this app for a month or two now. I’m still yet to meet the right guy, but have been on several great dates and gained a few new friends along the way. The app is quick and convenient to use. I often find myself on it during my lunch breaks at work or whilst I’m waiting for my train on the way back home.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my Singledout dating app review and it has persuaded you to give it a go – if you’re sick of meeting the same old superficial losers which you find on many dating app, perhaps something like Singledout is exactly what you need.
Singledout dating app review: Rating 4 out of 5
As you can probably tell by reading my Singleout dating app review. I really enjoyed my experience using the app and will probably continue to do so until I meet my Mr Right (one day!). However nothing is perfect and there is always room for improvement. I will give my experience 4 out of 5 stars.
Attention: Singledout App Singles Out UK iPhone users
Sometimes it seems like the world is conspiring to keep you single. That’s certainly how it feels when you install a dating app, and even the APP rejects you! I had been excited to try the female-friendly Singledout, but my dating issues soon became Singledout app issues. This Singledout review explains why we just didn’t hit it off.
My Singledout app issues began when I tried the first of the two registration options: sign in with Facebook. A little yellow head appeared on the screen and spun in a circle, with the word “Loading” underneath. Promising. The spinning continued. On and on. Eventually, the little yellow head grew tired and gave up, to be substituted with the message “an error occurred” and a picture of a warning triangle, with a button to “try again”. Thanks, Singledout. Dating really is helping me improve my perseverance skills! I did indeed “try again”, four more times. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. Then I turned my phone on and off. I double and triple checked that my phone was signed in to Facebook. No dice.
Privacy
OK. There’s a problem linking with Facebook. I didn’t really want to register with my mobile number, because privacy. So I decided to try it as my only other route. I chose that option and felt a flutter of relief when the app correctly loaded the page. Relief soon turned to disbelief when I tried clicking the “+1” at the start of the phone number field, and it became clear that it wasn’t for changing. No drop down menu or delete option. They want a USA phone number. Never one to give up without a fight, I tried entering my UK mobile number. This time, no spinning head (except my own), just a buffering wheel. Nope. Nada.
My Singledout review is that it might as well not be on the UK AppStore for all its use. Female friendly? Only if you’re American. Dating can be thwarted by trust issues, work issues, but Singledout App issues is a new one for me. Sorry Singledout, it’s not me; it’s you.
